The launch was well attended. Around 15 residents came to the first open consultation session at Kitzingen Town Hall. Mayor Dr Enis Tiz introduced this new format at the start of his term of office. Every first Monday of the month, from 2 pm to 4 pm, all residents of the town and its neighbourhoods are welcome to come and put forward their requests and suggestions.
Vanessa Volkert was one of the first guests at the open consultation session. The manager of gfi GmbH’s lunchtime supervision scheme at Siedlung Primary School was delighted with the initiative. She said that face-to-face communication is always better than via email or telephone. And so she was able to raise her concerns with the Lord Mayor – such as forward-planning regarding capacity and the heat during the summer months, amongst many other issues – directly, face-to-face. Other residents informed the Lord Mayor about noise issues relating to current construction projects or suggested changes to traffic management. “I am grateful for the many suggestions and points of criticism,” said Dr Enis Tiz after around two hours of consultation. As a next step, he intends to discuss the individual points with the relevant specialist departments and – where possible – find swift solutions.
