Description of the
Green space plans may be drawn up, in particular, for the purpose of
- The protection and maintenance of open spaces, including the design of the townscape and the development of green infrastructure in residential, commercial and other built-up areas,
- The design, maintenance and development of parks and other green spaces, bodies of water and their surrounding areas, urban woodlands or other large open spaces of particular importance for recreational purposes within built-up areas, as well as the immediate outskirts of towns and cities,
- The design, maintenance and development of sub-areas within specific cultural landscapes, including their respective cultural landscape features, as well as areas of particular significance for recreation in the open countryside
The local authority is responsible for drawing up green space plans. Green space planning is usually incorporated into the local development plan. It may also be drawn up as a stand-alone plan. This plan is binding on individual residents.
