Description of the
If you wish to use subsidised accommodation yourself, leave it unlet and vacant for more than three months, or use it for purposes other than residential ones, you will need to obtain a permit. You can apply for this informally at the relevant authority (district offices, independent towns, large district towns or ‘large delegated municipalities’).Prerequisites
A permit for personal use will be granted if you meet the income thresholds required for the issue of a housing eligibility certificate.
Leaving the flat vacant for a period longer than three months is permitted if it is not possible to let it and the purpose of the grant cannot be met in any other way.
Permission to use residential premises for purposes other than residential ones may only be granted where there is an overriding legitimate public or private interest; the competent authority shall decide on this matter in accordance with its discretionary powers. In doing so, it may require an appropriate financial compensation or the granting of covenants of equivalent total value in respect of other residential premises.
