Description of the
The Fire Prevention Regulation (VVB), which is based on the State Criminal and Regulatory Act (LStVG), contains provisions governing design and behaviour, with the aim of
- to describe actions and situations that pose a serious fire hazard as such
- to enforce compliance with the prohibition by threatening to impose a fine
- to provide substantive inspection guidelines for carrying out municipal fire inspections in accordance with the Fire Inspection Regulations (FBV).
It sets out provisions for the following areas, amongst others:
- Firefighting
- Use of fireplaces
- Outdoor fires
- Fuel residues
- Matches, small appliances, naked flames, lighting equipment
- Smoking, smoking ban
- Electrical appliances
- Internal combustion engines
- Fire-hazardous equipment
- Solid fuels
- Storage of highly flammable solids in buildings
- Outdoor storage of flammable solids
- Outdoor storage of highly flammable crops
- Storage of self-heating agricultural produce
- Other self-igniting substances
- Balloons
- Decorating rooms
- Street festivals, markets and events
- unconverted attics, hatches, chimneys
- Escape routes
