For three days, news producers, media designers, broadcast teams and correspondents from BR Mainfranken will set up their laptops in a small mobile studio right on the market square and allow viewers to look over their shoulders as they work. They will carry out research and produce content on site, whilst seeking out topics to cover. Every day, television reports and live broadcasts from Kitzingen will be featured on BR Fernsehen (Frankenschau aktuell, 5.30 pm to 6 pm). On 18 September, the team from B1-Mittags in Mainfranken (12 noon to 1 pm) will be broadcasting live. The digital formats BR24vorOrt and Mensch.Bayern will also be present with information points.
A stage is being set up in the market square. On Friday, 18 September, there will be a live broadcast from there between 12 noon and 1 pm. There will also be reports from and about Kitzingen on the two preceding days. On all three days, there will be a 10-minute TV feature on the ‘Frankenschau’ programme, including a live link-up from Kitzingen. The topics are varied and topical: flood protection measures; the heatwave and drought and their impact on winegrowers and gardeners; the withdrawal of American troops 20 years ago and the positive developments in the former barracks; and a look back at the Garden Show and its positive effects on the town.
