Last December, it attracted a great deal of attention: the Scarf of Democracy adorned the town hall for around two weeks, drawing attention to the importance of democracy and the value of living in freedom. From 13 May to 8 November, it will be on display at the Museum Schloss Aschach.
Museum director Josefine Glöckner recently collected the scarf from Kitzingen town hall and was delighted with the story behind it. "We want to show the historical and the modern in our exhibition "Entangled and Sewn"," she reports. A scarf, which symbolises a political discourse, fits perfectly into the concept. From the spinning rooms of past centuries to needlework lessons and modern developments, the exhibition covers a wide range of different eras. Very personal stories about craftsmanship are also presented. Opening hours: Tuesday to Friday, from 2pm to 5pm and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 11am to 5pm. Mayor Astrid Glos is delighted that the campaign from December will live on. Not only as an exhibit, but also in real life. "The knitting courses that were organised in the retirement homes at the time still exist," she reports.
