The idea was conceived three years ago. You can clearly see how it is flourishing at the Kitzingen motorhome site.
An American lime tree has recently been planted by the council’s gardeners. It is already the second tree to be planted on the site. “More are to follow,” announced Walter Vierrether, the councillor for culture and tourism, at a small ceremony. At the end of the ‘campervan season’ and to coincide with the Etwashausen parish fair, a celebration is being held at the multi-award-winning site between Nordbrücke and Bleichwasen for the many guests, including a raffle. Tour guide Detlef Hildebrand came up with the idea of using the proceeds to plant a tree. “In a way, the motorhome owners are giving themselves a present,” says TI director Christina Richard. Whilst an American Judas tree was planted at the entrance to the site last year, this year the planting has moved a few metres further towards the pavilion and the Nordbrücke. From here, the “Hofrats-Allee” is set to grow year on year towards the Old Main Bridge. “Because, of course, we’ll be organising another motorhome festival with a raffle this autumn,” announces Vierrether.
