Tobias Volk and Walter Vierrether are the deputies of Lord Mayor Dr Enis Tiz. This was not the only decision made at the first meeting of the new committee on Tuesday evening, 12 May. A total of nine officer posts were allocated: Sabrina Stemplowski for the Volunteering Department, Sirin Sait-Keles for Integration and Schools, Dr Stephan Küntzer for Youth and Family, Dr Brigitte Endres-Paul for Culture, Eva Trapp for Senior Citizens and People with Disabilities, Matthias Rumpel for Sport, Thomas Rank for Urban Development, Klaus Sanzenbacher for Environment and Walter Vierrether for Tourism.
In his inaugural speech, Lord Mayor Dr Enis Tiz reminded the audience that the election campaign period was over and that the task of all elected city councillors was to act for the good of the city and its citizens. In view of the difficult budget situation, it was necessary to act with a sense of proportion and prioritise future measures. What is needed is not symbolic politics, but a policy that is close to the people. "Citizens expect us to take responsibility and make decisions in their interests," said Dr Tiz. The motto should be: Together for Kitzingen.
